There’s been a theme in my conversations lately.
Not planned.
Not something I set out to notice.
But it’s there.
Women sitting across from me – on Zoom, over coffee, in consult calls for personal branding photography here in Melbourne – all in that same space…
Working towards something.
Not quite “there” yet.
But definitely not at the beginning either.
That in-between stage.
Where it still feels like a stretch… but also like it might actually happen.
And every time I get off one of those calls, I feel this mix of excitement for them…
and a quiet little nudge for myself.
Because if I’m honest?
I forget sometimes.
I forget that I am the thing I once dreamt of.
When I was 17, I wanted to be a photographer.
I didn’t have a five-year plan.
I didn’t understand business models, marketing, client pipelines or what it really meant to run your own business.
I just knew I wanted to do something creative.
Something that felt like this.
And now… here I am.

Providing personal branding photography here in Melbourne, working with incredible people who are building their own businesses.
Helping them show up through headshots, lifestye and brand imagery, that actually reflects who they are.
(Also… doing my BAS, answering emails, and spending more time in the back end of websites, funnels, and systems – quietly becoming the tech person I never thought I’d be)
Because no one really explains that part when you’re 17.
And look – it’s not always easy.
There are days where it feels heavy.
Days where decisions stack up.
Days where you question things you thought you were sure about.
That’s part of it.
But it doesn’t cancel out the fact that…
this is it.
This is the thing I once wanted.
Which is probably why I love what I do so much.
Because the women I photograph – whether they’ve booked headshots or a full personal branding photography session – are right in it too.
Building something.
Backing themselves.
Taking steps (sometimes big, sometimes tiny, sometimes slightly wobbly).
They’re not waiting for perfect.
They’re moving.
And that’s the part I get to capture.
Not just what their business looks like…
but what it feels like to be in this stage.
The growth.
The courage.
The “I think I can actually do this” energy.
That’s what great personal brand photography should reflect.
So if you’re in that space right now…
Working towards something.
Wondering if it’s all going to come together.
Hoping you’re on the right track.
Just know this:
At some point in the future…
you’ll look back and realise…
You’re already in it.
And if you’re ready to show up as that version of you –
the one who’s building something real –
Through natural, professional headshots or personal branding photography that actually feels like you…
That’s where I come in.
If you’re ready to start showing up in you business – not someday, but now – with images that actually reflect who you are and what you’re building…
