There’s something really special about working with clients over many years, especially when you’re creating personal branding photos that support their business as it grows.
You get to see their business evolve, their confidence grow, and the way they show up in their industry become stronger and clearer.
I’ve been photographing my client Kathy for quite a while now, and what I appreciate most is that she truly understands the value of having a library of strong brand images, rather than relying on the occasional headshot.
In fact, the last photoshoot we did together lasted her five years.
Five years of updates, social media posts, marketing materials and professional visibility — all supported by one thoughtfully planned session.
So it was definitely time for a refresh.
When the timing finally aligned
We’d actually been talking about updating her photos for a little while.
Like many busy professionals, she had plenty happening behind the scenes, and finding the right moment to organise new images took time.
When everything finally aligned, we kept the session simple and strategic.
As a real estate agent, it made perfect sense to photograph her at a beautifully styled property listing here in Melbourne, which made the location feel completely natural for her work and brand.
A quick session that delivers lasting value
This was what I’d call a quick update session.
The shoot itself lasted around 45 minutes, but because we planned it carefully and used the location well, she walked away with 15 + images ready to use across her marketing.
Images for her social media.
Images for LinkedIn.
Images she can use when marketing properties or connecting with clients.
It’s a great example of how branding photography doesn’t always need to be a big production to be effective.
With the right planning, even a short session can produce a versatile set of images that support a business for years.
Why Personal Branding Photos Matter Beyond a Headshot
In many industries – including real estate – professionals often rely on a single headshot for years.
But a broader set of brand images creates far more opportunity.
Photos that show you in your environment.
Photos that reflect your personality.
Photos that can be used across different parts of your marketing.
Strong visuals help reinforce professionalism, trust, and familiarity – all things that matter when people are choosing someone to work with.
A reminder that your photos should grow with your business
The images we created five years ago supported her at that stage of her business.
These new images will support her for the next chapter.
And that’s really what branding photography is about – making sure your visuals continue to reflect the professional you’ve already become.
Sessions like this are a great reminder that personal branding photography in Melbourne doesn’t need to be complicated — just thoughtful and well planned.
