It was Jerry Seinfeld who once said,

“A recent survey stated that the average person’s greatest fear is having to give a speech in public.  Somehow this ranked even higher than death which was third on the list.  So you’re telling me that at a funeral, most people would rather be the guy in the coffin than have to stand up and give a eulogy”

Yikes!

But all jokes aside, this is a serious issue and sadly many hold themselves back from achieving all they can in life, business or profession because of this deep-seated fear.

Climbing the ladder comes with responsibility. The higher you climb, the more you are expected to be comfortable communicating and speaking in front of others whether it be pitching to clients, negotiating with suppliers, or leading your people. The challenge is that 73% of men and 75% of women have a FEAR of speaking in front of groups.
