I recently had the pleasure of photographing Renee and her fantastic team at Spinach Ventures for a corporate retreat at the stunning Mona Farm in Braidwood, NSW. 

Fun fact: Renee and I go way back – we first met during our uni days when we had weekend jobs together (too many years ago to count!). Reconnecting after all these years and seeing how far we’ve both come was such a great moment. Our first coffee catch-up lasted about 2.5 hours with neither of us coming up for air… there was a lot of ground to cover! 

So, when Renee asked me to photograph her and her team, I jumped at the chance – not just because it was a great excuse to head back to my hometown (where Renee still lives) and squeeze in some family time, but also because there’s such joy in being around people who bring back those fun memories of youth!

I also had this strong hunch that the shoot itself would be fabulous – an amazing location and great people. You see, Renee has this incredible calming influence – she’s just a pleasure to be around – so I just knew the team she’s gathered around her would be pretty fab to work with too!

As a People, Performance, and Culture Specialist, Renee is all about creating work cultures where people thrive, and businesses flourish. Pretty inspiring stuff, right?

So for this personal branding photoshoot I knew I just had to crash their corporate retreat, rather than shooting in a typical office environment because this was how we could best showcase Renee’s warmth and authenticity that defines her leadership style. And with the with the whole team together we could also focus on those moments of team collaboration and laughter, highlighting the genuine warmth and camaraderie that makes Spinach Ventures special.
